Rev. Dr. Lawrence R. Rast
Professor, Concordia Theological Seminary
Fort Wayne, Indiana

Birth Date: 9/13/62

Dr. Rast has a wonderful ability to see the contemporary situation of the Church in the light of what has gone before, and communicates not only this information, but also this aptitude to his students. An expert in religious movements in America and, especially, of the impact of ‘revivalism’ on early American Lutherans, he is able to demonstrate the dangers of much of what is now being forced upon LCMS congregations and pastors in the name of of ‘mission’.

Especially as the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod is in the midst of a plethora of disputes regarding the doctrine of the Church and the Office of the Ministry, the nature and practice of public worship, and how best to meet the challenges of a church body that has seen declining membership, Dr. Rast’s are sorely needed by the Synod.

Rev. Wallace Schulz
Evangelist, Lutheran Heritage Foundation
Editor/Publisher, Good News Magazine

Birth Date: 7/3/1944

Over the course of twenty-five years, the Rev. Wallace Schulz’s voice became the best known in the Missouri Synod, as he proclaimed God’s Word purely and clearly to millions—through the airwaves and in person, in the United States and abroad. His heart has always been with those who wish to share the Gospel, and he has been given opportunity by the Lord to put not only his time and talent toward the Gospel’s spread and equipping and inspiring others to proclaim it, but also his life and earthly ‘security’. When called upon by the LCMS to stand fast in the face of false doctrine and practice, Wallace Schulz stood his ground with Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions…and was relieved of job for so doing.

Rev. Schulz continues to serve the Church by encouraging world missions, particularly, now, the support of indigenous pastors by providing theological resources and training, so that the forgiveness of sins may be received by all. Along with his work for the Lutheran Heritage Foundation he serves as editor and publisher of “Good News” magazine, the primary distribution of which is in languages other than English.

Dr. William C. Weinrich
Professor, Concordia Theological Seminary
Fort Wayne, Indiana

Birth Date: 3/1/45

Dr. William Weinrich has that rare combination of erudition and passion that not only intrigues seminary students, but helps form them as bold confessors of the faith with an intense love for the people of God. He brings home Solomon’s point that “there is nothing new under the sun” so that young pastors are not overwhelmed by the vast opposition to Christian truth and pure doctrine so prevalent in the world (and even in churches) today.

As a long time military chaplain, Dr. Weinrich brings to his consideration of all topics both a sensitivity to the culture in which the Church must bring forth the message of Christ and a commitment to engage the culture in a way that is faithful to the teaching of the Lutheran Church.
